On February 4-5, leaders from the ICT community gathered before the II Ministerial Conference on the Information Society eLAC2007. The main objective of the seminar was to gather ICT4D experts together to elaborate concrete proposals to present at the Ministerial Conference eLAC2007 in the areas of ICT and poverty eradication, health, education, youth employment, and e-government for improved accountability, transparency, and citizen participation. The meeting was bilingual with simultaneous translation (Spanish-English) and the agenda can be accessed here. The seminar is a joint effort of the UN's Global Alliance for ICT and Development (GAID), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the International Development Research Centre-Institute for Connectivity in the Americas (IDRC-ICA), and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).
