Book Launch: Competition and Development 2008-09-03
On August 14, 2008, Stephen McGurk, IDRC's Regional Director for South Asia and China, Roger Nellist, DFID, and Pradeep S Mehta of CUTS, launched Competition and Development: The Power of Competitive Markets by Susan Joekes and Phil Evans at a seminar in Delhi. The book is part of the IDRC in_focus collection.

This book, released in May 2007, distils the lessons arising from a body of IDRC-financed research for the effective implementation of competition law.

Competition Provisions in Regional Trade Agreements: How to Assure Development Gains Brusick, Philippe et al. United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. 2005.
This publication focuses on competition issues in South-South regional trade agreements (RTAs), dealing with cross-regional, regional, and sectoral experiences. It tackles issues relevant to competition authorities in developing countries, including legal and economic issues related to implementation. A key message of this book is that regional competition provisions can support efforts to develop a fairer trading system.

An Empirical Examination of Competition Issues in Selected CARICOM Countries: Towards Policy Formulation Stewart, Taimoon.

This publication presents the results of research aimed at providing empirical information to illuminate the specific competition problems of the small economies of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
