Abstract
Urban African populations face many challenges related to climate change due population growth and fragile urban ecosystems. In September 2008, IDRC's Adaptation to Climate Change in Africa (ACCA) program is launching an open call for proposals on the theme of urban vulnerability. This grant will support activities related to disseminating the call for proposals, selecting the candidates and training the chosen teams. Specifically, it will allow the organizers to complement electronic publication of the call with a targeted mail-out, to submit the proposals to external review by experts and to bring the selected teams up to speed before finalizing their proposals.
