Abstract
The Hewlett Foundation and IDRC are collaborating under the Think Tank Initiative to develop a new program to strengthen independent think tanks and policy research centres in the developing world. It is expected that the institutions supported by the initiative over 10 years will be able to develop long-range plans, set their own research priorities and secure strong research programs. Support from the Think Tank Initiative comprises both core grants and funds devoted specifically to organizational development. This grant will allow a consultant to identify and describe organizational development specialists active in West and Central Africa, and assess the ability of local resources to meet the demands of think tanks in the region.
