Abstract

During the period 1997-2007, IDRC supported a number of projects carried out by the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) in the Sahel. This project will support an evaluation of five of them (102178, 102178, 100832, 101778, 102443). A consultant will verify with stakeholders the degree to which each project met its objectives, analyze the contribution of the project to the improvement of knowledge and skills, assess to what extent participatory approaches were integrated with biophysical methods, and make concrete recommendations regarding the steps to be taken. The results of the evaluation will help the initiative capitalize on the knowledge gained and strengthen its programming in the Sahel.
