Abstract
The United Nations African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) and the United States-based African Finance and Economics Association (AFEA) will organize their second biennial academic conference on economic policy in Africa, 7-9 November 2007, on the theme of Sector-Led Economic Growth in Africa. The 50 participants will include policymakers, economists and academics with advanced technical expertise. Final drafts of the manuscripts presented at the conference will be published in IDEP's working papers series and later as an edited book. In both cases, the output is expected to serve as training material on African economic development, and as input for policymakers in Africa and elsewhere. This grant will make a contribution to the conference.
