The French
Institut de recherche pour le développment (IRD
www.ird.fr) is leading a project called ESTIME (Evaluation of Scientific and Technological capabilities in Mediterranean countries) aimed at outlining the scientific and technological capabilities in 8 Mediterranean countries (Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Palestinian Territories). The project held its final meeting in Hammamet, Tunisia from June 28 to 30 2007.
ITS participated in the meeting and had the opportunity to give a brief presentation on the ITS program initiative and the
IPS program area of
IDRC. In the coming year, ITS will strive for an increased presence in the Middle East and North Africa region.
