The 4th African Regional Conference on Engineering Education (ARCEE-2008) will be take place from April 22–25, 2008 at Kunduchi Beach Hotel and Resort in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, hosted by the College of Engineering and Technology of the University of Dar es Salaam. The Conference is an annual event organized by the African Engineering Education Association, providing a unique forum for educators, professional organizations, regulators and industry leaders from all over the world in general and the African region in particular, to share experiences and discuss common problems in engineering and technology education. The theme for this year’s conference is “Capacity-Building in Engineering Education for Sustainable Development.” The Conference will critically examine curricula for facilitation and capacity building in engineering education for sustainable development within the region. It is anticipated that the conference will foster the link, collaboration and exchange of information between member nations on the one hand and the rest of the world on the other hand. The conference will also address issues relating to challenges in engineering and technology education globally. ITS is providing support to make possible for students and young researchers to be at the Conference, and is providing support to a few pre-Conference organizational and logistical issues.
