First Connectivity Africa Advisory Committee Meeting (Mauritius)

Institution: IDRC

Region: Sub-Saharan Africa | Africa

Start Date: 2004/07

Project Details

The Context

Catalysing Access to ICTs in Africa (CATIA) and Connectivity Africa both came out of the Group of Eight Digital Opportunity Taskforce (G8 DOT Force) and share a common aim: improving access to information and communication technologies (ICTs) in support of social and economic development in Africa. But while CATIA focuses on policy reform, Connectivity Africa is concerned with the implementation of ICTs. This grant will support a joint advisory committee to provide the two programs with strategic advice, maximize synergies and avoid duplication.

Project Objectives

To support the attendance of Connectivity Africa's advisors to the first joint Connectivity Africa and CATIA Advisory Meeting, which will take place in Mauritius, after the ACT Summit on 13 September 2004.
