Project Leader: Cissy Edith Nyarwa Institution: Ntulume Village Women's Development Association Region: Sub-Saharan Africa | Africa Start Date: 2005/08 Project Details The Context One of Connectivity Africa’s (CA) objectives is to encourage African institutions, communities and individuals to increase their influence and impact by working together. The project, "Harambee: Reinforcing African Voices through Collaborative Processes," proposes to implement network strengthening activities, including capacity building, knowledge sharing, and the development of research and training materials. The project will identify and learn from existing development collaborations and share this with its partners. This grant will support a series of meeting to refine the project proposal. These will include a network facilitation training workshop (9-10 September 2005); the first Harambee Focus Network meeting (12-13 September 2005); and the project proponent core team meeting (14 September 2005). All three meetings will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Project Objectives To strengthen the capacity of network coordinators to facilitate their networks through the more effective use of knowledge and ICTs. To bring together project proponents to work together on the project’s proposal; to build capacity of network members in the area of facilitation; to build on the facilitation-training curriculum begun at the facilitation workshop at the Centre in June; and to develop network action plans.
