New Director for the Innovation, Policy and Science (IPS) Program Area of IDRC
News 1 of 55 Next

Following a search from among a strong field of candidates, IDRC is pleased to announce the selection of Naser Faruqui as Director of the Innovation, Policy and Science (IPS) program area.  With advanced degrees in engineering and business management, Naser has an extensive background in the private sector, in government (at Environment Canada), and at IDRC in areas related to science policy, technology and development. He has published and presented in several fora, mainly but not exclusively on water-related issues, and has been instrumental in creating the fine reputation and visibility that the Centre possesses in water and urbanization issues overseas and in Canada.

Naser takes on his new duties on August 11. A search for Program Leader of Urban Poverty and Environment will start shortly. IPS would like to thank Rob Robertson for having held the fort as Acting DPA-IPS during a particularly eventful period since Richard Isnor's departure.
