Bio
Dr. Basil Jones is Senior Program Specialist with the Globalisation, Growth and Poverty and the Think Tank Initiatives based at IDRC’s Regional Office for Eastern and Southern Africa (Nairobi). He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Hull, UK, his Masters degree in Policy Economics from the University of Illinois and his Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics from the City of London Polytechnic. His research interests lie in the area of development macroeconomics, economic of integration and poverty dynamics. He joined the Secretariat for Institutional Support for Economic Research in Africa (SISERA) at the IDRC office in Dakar, Senegal in September 2001.
