Job Overview

A Grant Administration Officer assumes a leadership and supervisory role in his/her unit, ensuring the quality of financial and administrative support to a portfolio of Centre projects with respect to established standards of service, corporate policies and procedures.  The Grant Administration Officer sees to the satisfaction of program staff as well as recipients.

Candidate Profile

Education

Community college diploma in business (Ontario) or three-year CEGEP diploma in business administration (Quebec); or acceptable equivalency

Experience

This position normally requires 5 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, grant administration or project management.

Language

  • Bilingual (English and French) position at an intermediate level

  • Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Grant Administration
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and computerized accounting
  • Knowledge of IDRC mandate and programs
  • Knowledge of IDRC procedures for accounting, finance, contract management and grant administration

  • Good analytical skills; ability to grasp problems quickly; resourcefulness
  • Accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail and follow-up
