Distinguished Indian Experts to Speak at IDRC

IDRC is pleased to announce the upcoming speakers in its India Lectures series.

  • Dr Alka Acharya is a leading Indian sinologist who specializes in the relationship between India and China. She will deliver a public talk exploring the dynamics of the two countries on Thursday, October 30 from 2:30–4:00 p.m. For more information

  • Dr Rajeev Bhargava is a leading professor of Indian political theory and a scholar of multiculturalism and secularism in non-Western societies. He will speak on secularism on Tuesday, November 4, from 10:00–11:30 a.m. For more information

Both events will take place at IDRC’s head office, 150 Kent Street, Ottawa. Previous lecturers in the series included renowned Indian journalist M.J. Akbar and political scientist Pratap Bhanu Mehta (see www.idrc.ca/indialectures).

The India Lectures highlight the wealth of eminent thinkers and stimulating ideas emanating from this rising global power. The series marks the 25th anniversary of IDRC’s regional office in New Delhi and celebrates IDRC’s enduring and valued collaboration with its Indian research partners.
