| IIJusticia launches an e-privacy website and a call for research papers |

News 2 of 17
The Research Institute for Justice (IIJusticia) is implementing an applied research project called ‘Rights and Justice in the Social Web Movement’ (104413) with the support of the International Center for Development Research (IDRC) and Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA). The project aims to explore and develop a knowledge base which analytically includes a systematization of risks and an updated summary of attempted solutions, aimed at facilitating an informed debate on the risks generated by Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for vulnerable groups (in particular, children, adolescents and young people) and possible corrective action through public policies related to improving access to information, freedom of expression and transparency of government and institutions. The project will encompass the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.
An e-privacy website and a call for research papers have been launched as part of this project.
The aim of the call for research is to obtain an update on the issues identified by the project. The final expected output is a set of documents that present a complete overview on the protection of fundamental rights relating to the use of ICTs and the social web movement, with a special emphasis on privacy rights.
