When (begins) : 2008-11-27 12:00 (Ottawa) 2008-11-27 14:00 (Ottawa) - Where : IDRC building,150 Kent Street, Ottawa, 8th floor, Hopper A Room IDRC’s Women’s Rights and Citizenship program in collaboration with the Society for International Development, Ottawa Gatineau (SID-OG) is pleased to invite you to a public presentation with: Diane Elson, University of Essex, United Kingdom "Gender Equality and the Current Economic Crisis" Prof. Diane Elson (UK) teaches in the Department of Sociology at University of Essex and is former Chair in Development Studies at Manchester University. Dr. Elson, has worked on the UNIFEM Report on Progress of the World's Women (2000) and was named, one of fifty key thinkers on International Development in 2006 (D. Simm (ed). Fifty Key Thinkers in Development, Routledge, London.). Among her latest publications, are: “Macroeconomic Policy, Employment, Unemployment and Gender Equality” in J.A. Ocampo and K.S. Jomo (eds) Towards Full and Decent Employment, Orient Longman, 2007, and Emerging Issues with a Focus on Economic Decision-Making’ in UN Economic Commission for Europe (ed) Gender Gaps and Economic Policy, UNECE, Geneva, 2007.
