When (begins) : 2007-09-11 12:30 (Ottawa) 2007-09-11 14:00 (Ottawa) -

Asha Elkarib is a researcher at the Gender Center for Research and Studies in the Sudan.

Asha will be delivering a presentation on a research project that looks at decentralization and women’s rights in the Sudan.  The main research question informing the research focuses on how women’s rights in the Sudan have been impacted by the decentralization project.
Specifically, Asha will present findings from the research, which examines the impact of decentralization on health, education and the use of natural resources.   The research looks into the different factors surrounding the decentralization project that may affect meeting women’s health and education needs, and its impact on distribution and access to resources.
