Environmental Management Development of the Dnieper for Belarus and Russia (EMDDBR) 2000-2003 Belarus, Russia
The EMDBR Program, funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), was developed in order to improve the capacity of Russia and Belarus for the management of the Dnieper River, thus, allowing these countries to participate effectively and at the same level of sophistication as Ukraine in the Dnieper GEF project. The activities include capacity building projects, review of laws and establishment of environmental management structures, baseline water quality studies and river quality monitoring stations, creation of the GIS based information systems and computer-based network between research institutions and river management agencies, resulting in the development of an effective strategic action plan for management of water quality in the entire Dnieper basin. To access the materials, please, click on the Related Docs folder located on the left side.
