Abstract
As a motor of the informal sector, micro-enterprises predominate the main sectors of the modern economy: trade, services and production. The Program of Study in Micro-Enterprise Management (MEM) is geared to the needs of micro-enterprises for training that explores management in all its ramifications (economics, marketing, microfinance, etc.) while remaining connected to practice on the ground. The program is a short (15-week) professional postgraduate course that uses distance education methods (Internet). The project will run for 12 months, training 10 individuals active in micro-enterprise management in Sénégal and Bénin. Once the training course is completed, the graduates' ability to improve the efficiency of micro-enterprises, and the living conditions of the owners, will be evaluated on the ground over a period of five months.
