Abstract
In 2003 Bénin adopted a policy and strategy to develop its information and communications technology sector (ICT), and created structures to implement the policy. Despite these commendable advances, the government and other national actors have as yet little evidence of any substantial gains in the field. Indeed, the research community has yet to get involved in this domain, mainly due to lack of essential skills. This grant will help to breach the gap by supporting the development of a multidisciplinary research program on the implementation of the Bénin national policy and strategy on ICTs.
