Abstract
Over the last decade, Cameroon has experienced slow development, increasing poverty and a breakdown in the socio-cultural fabric. This phenomenon has been the subject of many analyses but little corrective action. IDRC sponsored a symposium organized in Yaoundé in June 2006 on the dialogue between researchers and decision-makers in the area of governance. The participants highlighted the necessity of working toward a real appropriation of research results by decision-makers. A follow-up committee of five persons was formed to see to the implementations of the Symposium recommendations and eventually, initiate complementary action to operationalize dialogue between researchers and decision-makers in the field of governance. This grant will allow the follow-up committee to prepare a plan of action to this end.
