Abstract
In Côte d'Ivoire, as in other African countries, analysts agree that a flourishing small and medium enterprise (SME) sector is a pre-requisite to development. Unfortunately, the SME sector has proved to be the most vulnerable in the economic fabric. Although many SMEs are created, few survive more than five years. This situation seems to reflect not only problems related to financing and the administrative and legal environment, but also lack of management. This activity aims to equip SMEs in Côte d'Ivoire with management techniques that are competitive and adapted to their environment. Specifically, it is intended to identify shortcomings in the current SME management system, problems related to the sociocultural context and financing problems, and propose solutions.
