Abstract
The Centre ivoirien de recherches économiques et sociales (CIRES) located in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, has a good record of research and teaching in economics for rural development. The purpose of this project is to provide institutional support to CIRES by offering five post-graduate scholarships in the 'doctorat de 3e cycle' in Rural Economics during the academic year 1985-1986. The awards will be available to applicants from the Ivory Coast, Benin and Togo. This grant is being offered in conjunction with a research grant provided to CIRES by the Centre's Social Sciences, Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Sciences and Communications Divisions (3-P-85-0038).
