Abstract

The introduction of new information and communication technologies (ICTs) into the gender and development framework is based on the notion that effective use of ICTs will lead to women's empowerment and overall development. Gender and ICT project interventions are currently being implemented in many countries in the South. This grant will allow Isis International - Manila to determine the most effective tools and channels of communication used by 100 intermediary groups (nongovernmental, grassroots and civil society organizations) in five countries (Fiji, India, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Thailand) to transmit information that women need for their empowerment and development.
