Abstract
Libraries and documentation centres are important in development because they give doctors, engineers, students, planners, and administrators the information they need to carry out their duties. In the West African country of Guinea, there is no national centre for social and economic documentation. This project will provide the resources for the creation and implementation of such a national development documentation and information centre. It will play a broad role in research as part of the Directorate of Scientific and Technical Research, the central research coordination and documentation agency in Guinea.
