Abstract
The Centre for the Study of Democracy (CSD) at Queen's University will conduct three case studies on democratic transition in Liberia, Costa Rica and Palestine, partnering with the Sua Foundation, the Arias Foundation and the Arab Thought Forum, respectively. A total of 10 case studies - four of which have already been completed - will form the basis for a teaching tool grounded in comparative research that will, it is hoped, yield lessons that can be applied to democratic transition worldwide. A planned second phase of the project will establish an executive management course on the theme at Queen's University, and a third phase will produce a democratic values curriculum to be offered in schools or over the Internet.
