Abstract
The Stockholm Challenge focuses on the positive effects of information and communication technology (ICT) on people and society. Two Acacia projects, one in Mali and the other in South Africa, are among 100 finalists out of a selection of 741 competitors from all over the world. The projects are: 065230 (97-8158) Multipurpose Community Telecentre of Timbuctu (Mali) and the 004327 (98-8906) Rosslyn Collaborative Learning Centre (South Africa). This grant will allow researchers from the two projects to attend the final competition at the Stockholm Challenge, 24-28 September 2001.
