Abstract
In the Republic of Mali, the National Directorate for Industries offers industrial information services contributing to the modernization of the country's economy. Supporting these efforts, a first phase of this project undertook an industrial census in Mali, the result of which was the gathering of material for a database on enterprises, the publication of a directory as well as the supply of new services to users. The second phase of this project will update the database and integrate data on patents and industrial norms. The project will further promote services to small and medium-size enterprises in the form of visits ("Open Door" events and exhibitions) so that these enterprises will be able to improve their technology as well as their legal and administrative preparedness. Collaboration with other industrial information services is also considered.
