------------------------ To: All Institutions and Researchers who submitted Concept Notes to the Call on Ecohealth and Communicable Diseases in Latin America and the Caribbean (Past deadline: October 31st, 2006) We appreciate your interest and we would like to transmit our sincere thanks to all the research teams and institutions that submitted concept notes to this Call. As established in the web posting of the Call, only those concept notes and pre-selected teams invited to the February 2007 Proposal Development Workshop have been explicitly announced and published in the IDRC web page. The Technical Advisory Committee reviewed all concept notes based on specific guidelines and used detailed evaluation criteria and forms. The assessments are confidential and for the exclusive use of the Steering Committee. The Call does not foresee the preparation and dissemination of technical comments for those Concept Notes that were not pre-selected for the workshop. Due to the overwhelming response to this Call and to time constraints, it is unfortunately not possible for IDRC staff, the Technical Advisory Committee or the Steering committee to provide comments on concept notes not selected for the workshop. We thank you once more for your interest in the Call and your submission of Concept Notes. ------------------------- On behalf of IDRC and the Steering Committee of the Regional Call on Ecohealth and Communicable Diseases in LAC, it is our pleasure to announce that 11 concept notes have been pre-selected and will be invited to the Project Development Workshop. In total, 51 concept notes were received by the deadline of October 31, 2006, and the final selection was based on the review and recommendations of the Technical Advisory Committee. Congratulations to the successful teams, they will be contacted with additional information in the near future. We thank all the teams who submitted a proposal to the Call and look forward to a fruitful collaboration with those selected for the workshop.
