Equality between women and men: To have a voice. To have a choice.Organized by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the 17th annual International Development Week (IDW) runs February 4–10, 2007. This year, IDW will focus on how equality between women and men is fundamental to sustainable development.
IDW is an opportunity for CIDA and its partners to share their challenges and successes in international development with Canadians.
As part of its contribution to IDW, Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC) will participate in the partners’ information expo in the lobby at CIDA headquarters, 200 Promenade du Portage, Gatineau, Quebec, Tuesday, February 6, 2007. (See full Calendar of events).
Other IDRC activities during the week include a public book launch of The Media and the Rwanda Genocide, edited by Professor Allan Thompson of the Carleton University School of Journalism. The launch will be held at Carleton, in the foyer of the Tory Building, on Wednesday, February 7, at 6:30 pm. For more information.
