| Research for Health Equity |
Research for Health Equity (RHE) is the home base for three programs sharing a common overarching concern for policies, research, and systems oriented to increasing equity in health. Governance, Equity and Health ( GEH), Research for International Tobacco Control ( RITC) and the Secretariat of the interagency Global Health Research Initiative (GHRI) are each implementing distinctive strategic directions, but all share a commitment to three objectives: Making a difference to health-related policy, systems, and outcomes “on the ground” in countries, regions, and communities; informing and influencing global policy debates while remaining grounded in the priorities and perspectives of Southern researchers, decision makers, and stakeholders; and developing research capacities and supporting communities of practice to help institutionalize a governance and equity approach to health systems research and policy-making beyond IDRC.
