Features International Ecohealth Forum 2008 From December 1-5, 2008, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners from around the globe will gather in Merida, Mexico, for the International EcoHealth Forum under the theme "EcoHealth: Healthy Environments, Healthy People."

The Ecosystem Approaches to Human Health Program at Canada's International Development Research Centre supports research on the relationships between all components of an ecosystem to define and assess priority problems that affect the health of people and the sustainability of the ecosystems they depend upon.

In seeking to improve human health and well-being while simultaneously maintaining a healthy ecosystem, the emphasis is on designing solutions based on ecosystem management rather than health sector interventions.
